SADC Business Forum and Other Bodies

Participation in Regional and Pan-African Fora ASCCI is the founder of SADC Business Forum member and its immediate Past-President Dr Martin Kansichi was the first chairman of The Southern Africa Business Forum (SABF), which is a regional business forum that is set up by the private sector Sectorial associations to address the mutual benefits for the private sector in Southern Africa.

Founding members of SABF are:

  • Association of SADC Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASCCI).
  • Mining Industry Association of Southern Africa (MIASA).
  • SADC Bankers Association (SBA).
  • SADC Employers Group (SEG).
  • Southern African Confederation of Agricultural Unions (SACAU).
  • Southern African Enterprise Network (SAEN.
  • Southern African Railways Associations (SARA).
  • Small Enterprise Promotion Advisory Council (SEPAC).

Mr Harrison Kalua, Dr Coholo (SADC Secretariat) and Minister Buyelwa Sonjica.

Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, Minister of Foreign Affairs (RSA).

SABF offers the possibility to serve as another formal outlet to the region’s private sector engagement with the paragovernmental SADC Secretariat of the SADC Member States.

ASCCI CEO, Sipho Mseleku.

Equally the forum is seeking engagement with the SADC Secretariat to channel the participation and input of SADC Business in the implementation of the SADC’s Regional Indicative Strategic Development Programme (RISDP), as well as carrying the regional representation of business in the newly conceived / created EU-SADC Business Forum.

SBF focuses only on the Macro-policy issues affecting all its members in the region and as a result does not compete with ASCCI but enhances the policy and advocacy function in the region.

Executive Major of
Johannesburg,
Mr Amos Masondo.

Executive Director Small
Business Nedbank
Mr Sibongiseni Ngudze.
